RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH CAMP DRESSER MCKEE, INC., TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR PUBLIC WORKS AND UTILITIES DEPARTMENT, ESTIMATED AT $28,020.
BY COUNCILOR ECKENBERG:

WHEREAS, the city of Duluth desires a limited utility study for the Morgan Park area; and

WHEREAS, the city desires to hire a consulting engineer to provide the professional services required to collect, data, analyze and make recommendations for repairs and/or relocation of the utilities; and

WHEREAS, Camp Dresser McKee, Inc., has submitted a proposal for such services in connection with this project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Camp Dresser McKee, Inc., to provide the city with such utility study services.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the cost of said utility services, estimated at $28,020, will be payable from the various funds, various dept./agencies, various organizations, various objects.



STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the award of a contract for professional services to assist with the assessment of the underground utilities in Morgan Park from Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. for $$28,020 to be paid from the Water, Gas, Sewer and Storm Water Utilities Funds; Professional Services. The utilities in the community were originally installed privately by US Steel Corporation and require much maintenance and repair. This study will collect data, analyze and make recommendations for repairs and/or relocation of the utilities. Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. was chosen from five potential companies which provided proposals. The are sufficient funds available in the budget for this study.
