BY COUNCILOR FENA:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COOPERATIVE
TESTING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND ST. LOUIS COUNTY FOR EMPLOYMENT
TESTING, IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,600.
RESOLVED, that the proper
city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement substantially
in the form of Public Document No. _____________, on file in the office
of the city clerk, with St. Louis County, for cooperative testing of candidates
for employment as police officers/deputy sheriffs, in an amount of $15,600,
payable from Fund 100, Agency 200, Org. 1610, Object 5441.
OF PURPOSE: This resolution would authorize the city of Duluth
and St. Louis County to purchase and jointly administer an employment examination
for the positions of police officer and deputy sheriff, using a video-based
examination which would be purchased from Ergometrics & Applied Personnel
Research, Inc. The proposed joint testing is anticipated to increase the
available applicant pool for the positions and would be advantageous to
applicants, who would only have to take one examination in order to be
considered for employment by either agency. The proposed joint testing
would also result in savings to the city and the county because the vendor
of the test provides a discounted cost for the test based on the total
number of sworn officers in agencies cooperatively participating in the
The city's cost would purchase
rights to use the test in perpetuity.
