RESOLUTION ISSUING A TEMPORARY
ON SALE NONINTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE TO ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the
city council of the city of Duluth hereby issues the following temporary
on sale nonintoxicating malt liquor license subject to departmental approvals
with any specific restrictions:
St. Michael's Church,
4901 East Superior Street, for May 19, 2000, with Amy Flaig, manager.
BEVERAGE BOARD DISCUSSION OF 5/2/2000: Amy Flaig
was present on behalf of the application. Ms. Flaig explained that
they will be holding a carnival at the school until 8:00 p.m. on May 19,
and that after the children have left, they will be having a dance with
a band that starts at 9:00 p.m. for adults only. To the board's questioning,
Ms. Flaig stated that they will be serving only beer from the kitchen,
and that they have hired one off duty police officer to work at the dance.
To further questioning from the board, Officer Christensen stated he has
talked with Ms. Flaig about the event and is satisfied with their security
arrangements. There being no further discussion, Mr. Hendrickson
moved THAT THE APPLICATION OF ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH, 4901 EAST SUPERIOR
STREET, FOR MAY 19, 2000, WITH AMY FLAIG, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE
SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Carlson
seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.
