RESOLUTION ISSUING A TEMPORARY ON SALE NONINTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE TO VARIOUS LICENSEES.

BY COUNCILOR EDWARDS:

BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby issues the following temporary on sale nonintoxicating malt liquor licenses, subject to departmental approvals:

Greek Orthodox Church (Twelve Holy Apostles), 632 East Second Street, for June 24 and 25, 2000, Nick Petrangelo, manager.

Mr. D's Men's and Women's Softball Team, Wheeler Field, for June 10 and 11, 2000, with Alan Terwey, manager.

Western Softball Tournament (Early Bird Tournament), Wheeler Field, for June 3 and 4, 2000, with Darrell Eckenberg, manager.


Alcohol, Gambling and Tobacco Commission Discussion of 5/9/00:

GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, (TWELVE HOLY APOSTLES), 632 EAST 2ND ST. - APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JUNE 24 & 25, 2000, WITH NICK PETRANGELO, MANAGER.

Nick Petrangelo was present on behalf of the application. He reviewed that this was their 3rd annual festival where they sell food and beer in the parking lot of their church. Mr. Petrangelo continued saying that they erect a tent in their parking lot which is enclosed on three sides, and that there will be an off duty police officer working during the beer sales. Officer Christensen stated that there have been no problems with this event in the past and has approved this application. There being no further discussion, Mr. McKinnon moved that the APPLICATION OF GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, (TWELVE HOLY APOSTLES), 632 EAST 2ND ST., FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JUNE 24 & 25, 2000, WITH NICK PETRANGELO, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Levey seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.

MR D'S MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SOFTBALL TEAM, WHEELER FIELD, - APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JUNE 10 & 11, 2000, WITH ALAN TERWEY, MANAGER.

Al Terwey was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Terwey stated that this is their 22nd annual tournament, and that they will be serving beer only at Wheeler Field on Saturday and Sunday. Officer Christensen stated that he has received a list of their security and has no problems with this application. There being no further discussion, Mr. McKinnon moved that THE APPLICATION OF MR D'S MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SOFTBALL TEAM, WHEELER FIELD, FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JUNE 10 & 11, 2000, WITH ALAN TERWEY, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Levey seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.

WESTERN SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT, (EARLY BIRD TOURNAMENT), WHEELER FIELD - APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JUNE 3 & 4, 2000, WITH DARRELL ECKENBERG, MANAGER.

Darrell Eckenberg was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Eckenberg reviewed that this was the 13th annual Early Bird Tournament, and that he has given the list of security working the tournament to Officer Christensen. Officer Christensen stated that there have been no problems with this tournament in the past. There being no further discussion, Mr. Willman moved that THE APPLICATION OF WESTERN SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT, (EARLY BIRD TOURNAMENT), WHEELER FIELD , FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JUNE 3 & 4, 2000, WITH DARRELL ECKENBERG, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Hendrickson seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.
