RESOLUTION ISSUING A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE TO LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND, INC., 4505 WEST SUPERIOR STREET.

BY COUNCILOR EDWARDS:

BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby approves issuance of a temporary on sale intoxicating liquor license to the following licensee, with an application fee of $200 per day, subject to departmental approvals with any specific restrictions, and further subject to approval of the liquor control commissioner:

Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc., 4505 West Superior Street, for August 23, 2000, with Scott Welles, manager.

Alcohol, gambling, and tobacco commission discussion of 7/11/00:

Scott Welles was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Welles explained that they are having an appreciation party for the approximate 80 volunteers that help their organization. He continued saying that they the event will be catered by Grandma's Restaurant Company, 375 Minnesota Avenue, and that their event will be three hours long and they will be having music, food and beverages. Officer Christensen stated he will review the security arrangements with Mr. Welles, but anticipates no problem with this event. There being no further discussion, Mr. Willman moved THAT THE APPLICATION OF LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND, INC., 4505 W. SUPERIOR ST., FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR AUGUST 23, 2000, WITH SCOTT WELLES, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Hendrickson seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.
