RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF MANAGER, PERSONNEL SERVICES.

BY COUNCILOR STEWART:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the civil service classification of manager, personnel services, which were approved by the civil service board on August 8, 2000, and which are filed with the city clerk as Public Document No. ________________, are approved; that said classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its confidential unit employees; and that the pay range and rates shall remain unchanged, pay range 12, pay rate $4,153 to $5,067 per month.


STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The classification title has been changed from manager, personnel services, to manager, human resources. This change reflects a change in division and department titles from the personnel services division of the personnel department to the human resources division of the administrative services department. The revision has been made to avoid confusion within the organization and to become more consistent with similar job titles in the private sector. No changes have been made to the body of the job description. There is no change in rate of pay.
