RESOLUTION APPROVING ISSUANCE
OF A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE TO ALS ASSOCIATION,
NORTHLAND CHAPTER (EGGEBRECHT ALS FUND RAISER), ARMY NATIONAL GUARD BUILDING.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the
city council of the city of Duluth hereby approves issuance of the following
temporary on sale intoxicating liquor license by the liquor control commissioner,subject
to departmental approvals, application fee of $200, and any specific restrictions:
Northland Chapter (Eggebrecht Chevrolet ALS fund raiser), Army National
Guard building, for January 20, 2001, with David Kolquist, manager.
gambling, and tobacco commission 11/14/2000 discussion:
Les Williams was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Williams
stated that this is their sixth annual benefit for ALS that is held at
the National Guard Armory. He continued by saying that there will
be food, drinks and a band with approximately 600 people in attendance.
To questioning from the board, Mr. Williams replied that Hermantown police
officers will be working security at the dance and will be checking I.D.'s.
To further questioning from the board, Mr. Williams replied that they will
be using the liquor license from Skyline Bowling and will be having professional
bartenders working at the bar. Officer Christensen stated that he
has no problem with this application. There being no further discussion,
Mr. McKinnon moved THAT THE APPLICATION OF ALS ASSOCIATION (EGGEBRECHT
ALS FUNDRAISER), 4015 AIRPARK BLVD, APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE
INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JANUARY 20, 2001, WITH DAVID KOLQUIST,
MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR
APPROVAL. Mr. Willman seconded the motion, and it was unanimously
