RESOLUTION APPROVING THE
TEMPORARY EXPANSION OF THE ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE OF D&D
ENTERPRISES OF CLOQUET, INC. (MR. D'S SPIRIT VALLEY), 5622 GRAND AVENUE.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby approves
the temporary expansion of the designated serving area of the following
on sale intoxicating liquor license, subject to departmental approvals:
D&D Enterprises of Cloquet, Inc. (Mr. D's Spirit Valley), 5622 Grand
Avenue, for March 4, 2001.

Mary Jurek was present on behalf of the application. Ms. Jurek stated that
they are having a fundraiser for Dwayne Terwey on March 4, and will be
putting a 20 x 80 foot tent out in the back parking lot of Mr. D's and
will be serving alcoholic beverages in the tent from noon until 8:00 pm.
She continued by saying that they will be having six off duty police officers
working the bar and the tent, checking ID's and using wrist bands to identify
if they can be served alcoholic beverages. To the board's inquiry, Ms.
Jurek replied that the people will not be able to leave the tent with their
drinks, and there will be police officers at the two entrances into the
tent to prevent that. The clerk stated that the police department has approved
this application. There being no further discussion, Mr. McKinnon moved
that THE APPLICATION OF D&D ENTERPRISES OF CLOQUET, INC. (MR. D'S),
5622 GRAND AVENUE, FOR TEMPORARY EXPANSION OF THEIR ON SALE INTOXICATING
LIQUOR LICENSE DESIGNATED SERVING AREA FOR MARCH 4, 2001, WITH AL TERWEY,
MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR
APPROVAL. Mr. Levey seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.
