Section 2.     This ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after its passage and publication.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:   The purpose of this ordinance is to authorize the execution of an agreement to sell by quit claim deed city-owned property in West Duluth to Carl J. and Bernadine F. Lundberg for $9,700.

This property is located generally north of Grand Avenue opposite the Fremont Point neighborhood. It had previously been deemed to be excess of the city's needs and had been put up for auction but the successful bidder could not close on it and decided not to proceed with the sale. Subsequently, however, the Lundbergs indicated a desire to purchase the property and are willing to pay the city's minimum price for it.
