RESOLUTION ISSUING AN ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE TO DUKES BASEBALL CLUB, LLC, (DULUTH SUPERIOR DUKES), WADE STADIUM.

BY PRESIDENT EDWARDS:

        BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby issues the following on sale non intoxicating malt liquor license for the period beginning May 1, 2001, and ending April 30, 2002, subject to departmental approvals and the payment of sales and property taxes:

                Dukes Baseball Club, LLC, (Duluth Superior Dukes), Wade Stadium, with John A. Ehlert, owner and president.


Alcohol, gambling and tobacco commission discussion of 3/13/01: John Erlich was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Erlich stated that he is the new general manager of the Dukes, and this application is for the beer license for the upcoming baseball season. To questioning from the board, Mr. Erlich replied that the same food and beverage manager will be operating the concessions as in the past and that there are no plans to change the operation. Officer Christensen stated that there have been no problems in the past with the beer license at Wade Stadium, and that police officers are there during the game to monitor the activity at the game. There being no further discussion, Mr. Hendrickson moved that THE APPLICATION OF DUKES BASEBALL CLUB, LLC, (DULUTH SUPERIOR DUKES), WADE STADIUM, FOR AN ON SALE NON INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING MAY 1, 2001, AND ENDING APRIL 30, 2002, WITH ROB HARGRAVES, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Levey seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.
