RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SALVATION ARMY TO PROVIDE WRAP AROUND INTERVENTION (SOCIAL) SERVICES TO MINNESOTA FAMILY INVESTMENT PROGRAM (MFIP) PARTICIPANTS AT RISK OF REACHING THE 60 MONTH LIFETIME ELIGIBILITY LIMIT AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $357,100.

BY COUNCILOR FENA:

        RESOLVED, that proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract in substantially the from of that on file in the offices of the city clerk with the salvation army to provide wrap around intervention (social) services to Minnesota family investment program (MFIP) participant's residing in the city of Duluth who are at risk of reaching the 60 month lifetime eligibility limit for the period July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002 at a cost not to exceed $357,100. A copy of this agreement shall be on file at the city clerk's office as Public Document No.________.

        FURTHER RESOLVED, the cost incurred shall be charged to local intervention grants for self-sufficiency funding, Fund 268, Budget Item 6276.



STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution is to permit the WorkForce Development Division to contract with the Salvation Army to provide wrap around intervention (social) services to MFIP (Minnesota Family Investment Program) participants who are residents of the City of Duluth and at risk of reaching the 60 month life-time eligibility limit for MFIP cash assistance. The contract is for the period July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002 and will not exceed $357,100. Any cost incurred under this agreement will be payable out of Local Intervention Grants For Self-Sufficiency Funding, Fund 268, Budget Item 6276.
