RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT TO PETERSEN ENGINEERING, INC., FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR TEN INCH GAS TRANSMISSION PIPELINE ESTIMATED AT $107,644.

BY COUNCILOR ECKENBERG:

        RESOLVED, that Petersen Engineering, Inc., be and hereby is awarded a contract for professional services for the ten inch steel natural gas transmission pipeline for the engineering division in accordance with specifications on its low specification proposal estimated at $107,644 terms net 30, FOB job site, payable out of Gas Construction Bond Fund 0521, Dept./Agency 500, Object 5532.



STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution will authorize the professional services for engineer design, estimate, specify, provide geotechnical work and construction engineering services for the ten inch gas line to run from the Great Lakes Transmission Company gas line along Irondale Road to Town Border Station 1A in Gary/New Duluth.  The purpose of this project is to connect to a second supplier of natural gas per the economic study by U.S. Energy.  Proposals were received from seven different firms, three were subsequently interviewed and Petersen Engineering was accepted at an estimate of $107,644.  Proposal No. 01-0655; Job No. G2678
