BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby approves the temporary expansion of the designated serving area of the following on sale intoxicating liquor license, subject to departmental approvals, with any specific restrictions:
Grandma’s, Inc. (Grandma’s Saloon & Deli), 522 Lake Avenue South, for September 24 and 25, 2004, with the serving and music ceasing at 1:00 a.m.
Alcohol, gambling and tobacco commission discussion of 8/4/04: Tony Boen was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Boen reviewed that this the annual Oktoberfest celebration that Grandma’s holds each year. He continued saying that have a tent set up in their parking lot for music and food for their 2 day event. To the commission’s inquiry, Mr. Boen replied that they have off duty police officers working in the tent checking ID’s and that the music and the serving will stop at 1:00 a.m. both nights. Officer Latour stated that there have been no problems in the past with this event. There being no further discussion, Mr. McKinnon moved that THE APPLICATION OF GRANDMA’S, INC. (GRANDMA’S SALOON & DELI) 522 LAKE AVE SOUTH, FOR TEMPORARY EXPANSION OF THEIR ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR SEPTEMBER 24 AND 25, 2004, WITH TONY BOEN, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Anderson seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.
