BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby issues the following temporary on sale intoxicating liquor license, subject to departmental approvals with any further restrictions and further subject to approval of the liquor control commissioner:
Northland Vietnam Veterans Association, Bayfront Park, for September 18, 2004, with Paul Larson, manager.
Alcohol, gambling and tobacco commission discussion of 8/9/2004: Paul Larson was present on behalf of the application. He explained that UMD is sponsoring Ribfest at Bayfront on September 18 which is a fundraiser for the athletic program for the school. Mr. Larson continued saying that the distributor would like to serve strong beer, so they are applying for this temporary intoxicating license. To the commission’s inquiry, Mr. Larson replied that there will be off duty police officers working the event for security. Officer Latour stated that there is no problem with this application. There being no further discussion, Mr. Johnson moved that THE APPLICATION OF NORTHLAND VIETNAM VETERANS ASSOCIATION, BAYFRONT PARK, FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE, FOR SEPTEMBER 18, 2004, WITH PAUL LARSON, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. McKinnon seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved.
