RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM GRANT FROM MINNESOTA DNR, DIVISION OF WATERS, FOR COASTAL MANAGEMENT EDUCATION PURPOSES IN THE AMOUNT OF $99,000 AND COMMITTING LOCAL SHARE.
BY PRESIDENT STAUBER:
WHEREAS, the state of Minnesota, through the Minnesota department of natural resources, division of waters, administers financial assistance for coastal management purposes through Minnesota’s Lake Superior coastal program; and
WHEREAS, the city of Duluth desires financial assistance from the coastal management assistance program for the Chester Creek and Miller Creek ownership mapping project.
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant (Contract No. 306-26-06) in the amount of $99,000 to assist in funding the Chester Creek and Miller Creek ownership mapping project. Said funds to be deposited into Fund 0210-030-2154.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are authorized to execute all documents necessary for the implementation of said grant and to provide local matching funds in the form of in-kind services in the amount of $101,107.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the city to accept a grant (Contract No. 306-26-06) from the Minnesota DNR, division of waters, in the amount of $99,000 from their coastal zone management assistance grant program to assist the city to defray a portion of the cost of the Chester Creek and Miller Creek ownership mapping project.
The city will provide matching funds in the form of in-king services which will be valued at $101,107.
