BY COUNCILOR STOVER:
The city of Duluth does ordain:
Section 1. That the proper city officials are hereby authorized to convey an easement for a sanitary sewer pipeline related to the Lakewood pumping station, substantially in the form of that on file in the office of the city clerk as Public Document No. __________, to the North Shore Sanitary District over and across the property in St. Louis County, Minnesota, described on said public document.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after its passage and publication.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This ordinance authorizes the conveyance of an easement over city-owned land occupied by the Lakewood pumping station for the extension of the North Shore sanitary sewer pipeline through the property adjacent to Scenic Highway 61 and to provide a service connection to the station itself. The grant of easement is necessary to allow the district to complete the connection of the new North Shore sanitary sewer system from Knife River to the easterly extremity of the current system connected to WLSSD and to give the Lakewood Pumping station access to that system. The actual new easement areas are shown on the maps attached to the easement document.
