BY COUNCILOR STOVER:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into a agreement substantially in the form of that on file in the office of the city clerk as Public Document No. ___________ with the South St. Louis County soil and water conservation district for the implementation of a sediment collection demonstration project at a cost of not to exceed $5,000; payable from Special Revenue Fund 210-3144-5319.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the city to enter into an agreement with the South St. Louis County soil and water conservation district for implementation of a sediment collection demonstration project.
The city has received a grant from state of Minnesota’s Great Lakes basin program for soil erosion and sediment control in the amount of $27,450 to implement such a project. Pursuant to the agreement, the district will assist the city in establishing a method of measuring the amount of sediment removed by city crews from its storm system, review sand and yard waste collection programs from other communities, run a pilot collection program in the spring and fall of 2005 in two separate neighborhoods and help the city develop a model that could lead to a city-wide, on-going program.
They will also be providing in-kind local match for the grant having a value of $4,900.
