BY COUNCILOR STOVER:
The city of Duluth does ordain:
Section 1. That the proper city officials are hereby authorized to sell and convey the following described property in St. Louis County, Minnesota, as shown on Public Document No. __________ by quit claim deed, to Lance Parthé and Patricia Stoll for $750 to be deposited in General Fund 100-700-1420-4640, and to execute all documents necessary with regard to said conveyance:
All that part of Lot 16, Block 18, WEST DULUTH FIRST DIVISION, according to the plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the county recorder in and for St. Louis County;
which lies southwesterly of the following described line:
beginning at the northwest corner of said Lot 16; thence run southeasterly to a point on the south line of said Lot 16, distant 105 feet west of the southeast corner thereof and there terminating.
SUBJECT to easements, covenants and restrictions of record.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after its passage and publication.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this ordinance is to authorize the conveyance of a small piece of property approximately 300 square feet in size, which is surplus to the city’s needs, to the adjacent property owner (Lance Parthé and Patricia Stoll). The city acquired this property from the Mn/DOT in 1985 as turnback property remaining after construction of the Interstate 35 freeway. The adjacent property owners operate a film/video production business and the city’s best interests are served by selling this property to the adjacent property owners.
TAX BASE IMPACT SUMMARY: The tax impact of this transaction will be deminimus.
