BY COUNCILOR JOHNSON:
RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of labor relations specialist, which were approved by the civil service board on June 7, 2005, and which are filed with the city clerk as Public Document No. _____________, are approved; that said classification shall be included in the confidential bargaining unit and be subject to that unit’s collective bargaining agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that pay range for said classification shall be the new Range 10A. The proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement the agreements or other documents necessary to carry out this resolution.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The human resources division is reorganizing, creating a need for a new classification to perform labor relations work, coordinating the workers’ compensation program and assisting with the technical aspects of the hospital-medical insurance plan. The pay range negotiated for the classification is the new Range 10A, $4,201 to $5,094 per month. The steps in the pay range are as follows: Step A $4,201; Step B $4,413; Step C $4,631; Step D $4,856; Step E $5,094.
