RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY ADJACENT TO GRAND AVENUE FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,500.

 

BY COUNCILOR GILBERT:

     RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to acquire from the state of Minnesota certain property located adjacent to Grand Avenue and BlockS 3 and 4, Morgan Park First Addition, as shown on file with the city clerk as Public Document No. for an amount not to exceed $1,500, payable from Special Revenue Fund 255-020.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the acquisition of two triangular pieces of property from the state of Minnesota. The property shown as hatched on the attached map was conveyed to Granite Works, Inc., which will be building on the property in the near future. The City intends to convey the triangular piece closest to Grand Avenue to Granite Works for fair market value. The City also owns the adjacent Block 4. The City will retain the second triangular piece until such time as the adjacent City-owned Block 4 property is packaged for sale. The cost of both triangular pieces will not exceed $1,500.
