BY COUNCILOR STOVER:
RESOLVED, the city of Duluth desires to provide the Middle, Highland and Woodland pressure zone study.
The city desires to hire a consulting engineer to provide the engineering services required to evaluate the water supply and distribution requirements for the Middle, Highland and Woodland pressure zones.
M.S.A. Professional Services has submitted a proposal for engineering services in connection with this project.
The proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with M.S.A. Professional Services to provide the city with such engineering services.
FURTHER RESOLVED, the cost of said engineering services, estimated at $27,710, will be payable from the Water Fund 0510, Department/Agency 500, Organization 1930, Object 5303.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the professional engineering services required to evaluate the water supply and distribution requirements for the Middle, Highland and Woodland pressure zones by M.S.A. Professional Services, estimated at $27,710. The purpose of this study is to assess the current and future water needs of the city of Duluth’s Middle, Highland and Woodland pressure zones and to identify recommendations for improvements. This analysis would incorporate the Highland pressure zone study completed in 2002 into the Middle and Woodland zone study. M.S.A. was the only consultant asked to submit a proposal. M.S.A. is familiar with the city’s water system and has it modeled already which is integral to performing the analysis. Requisition No. 2006-00000-121, Job Number 0555WA.
