BY COUNCILOR LITTLE:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to accept a community crime prevention grant from the state of Minnesota, office of justice programs, in the amount of $200,000 and to execute the grant agreement, a copy of which is on file in the office of the city clerk as Public Document No. __________. Grant funds to be deposited in Fund 215, Agency 200, Organization 2269, Revenue Source 4220-02.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution accepts grant funds from the state of Minnesota, office of justice programs, in the amount of $200,000 and authorizes execution of the grant agreement. The funds will be used to support a police and probation officer partnership monitoring high risk probationers, a youth intervention and diversion project to reduce recidivism, a neighborhood involvement project to develop neighborhood priorities and goals, and a overtime project that will put officers on the street to specifically address special problem issues. No matching funds are required for this grant. This is the first time the city has been awarded this grant.
