BY COUNCILOR STOVER:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Barr Engineering Company for services related to sediment control in Coffee and Miller Creeks in the amount not to exceed $92,187, payable from Fund 535, Agency 500, Organization 1930-2330, Object 5303.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a professional services contract with Barr Engineering for study, analysis and recommendation for sediment control at the Coffee Creek and Miller Creek outlets into St. Louis Bay.
Both Coffee and Miller creeks outfall into St. Louis Bay in channels just south of the I-35/Piedmont Interchange and annually deposit considerable sediment at the outfalls. This sediment requires periodic removal, analysis and disposal. The scope of this contract with Barr Engineering is to conduct adequate analysis for both creeks, develop alternatives for future sediment removal, provide engineering design and provide a sediment management plan.
The city of Duluth has obtained a Minnesota coastal grant to aid of $45,000 with this effort. City match funding source is Source 535, Agency 500, Organization 1930-2330, Object 5303, in the amount of $47,187.
