RESOLUTION ISSUING A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE TO RIDGEVIEW COUNTRY CLUB, 700 WEST REDWING STREET, AND NORTHLAND VIETNAM VETERANS ASSOCIATION, BAYFRONT PARK.

BY COUNCILOR KRAUSE:

     BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby issues the following temporary on sale intoxicating liquor licenses, subject to departmental approvals with any further restrictions, and further subject to approval of the liquor control commissioner:

           Ridgeview Country Club, 700 West Redwing Street, for July 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2006, with Phil Gaudino, manager.

           Northland Vietnam Veterans Association, Bayfront Park, for August 10, 11, 12 and 13, 2006, with Kathy Camps, manager.


Alcohol, gambling and tobacco commission meeting discussion of 6/7/2006:


NORTHLAND VIETNAM VETERAN’S ASSOCIATION, (BLUES FEST), BAYFRONT PARK - APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE LIQUOR INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR AUGUST 10-13, 2006, WITH KATHY CAMPS, MANAGER.


Kathy Camps was present on behalf of the application. Ms. Camps explained that they are applying for a temporary liquor license to serve beer and wine at the Blues Fest at Bayfront Park. To questioning from the commission, Ms. Camps replied that they will have off duty police officers working the event, and the operation will run the same as they have done in the past with a police officer checking ID’s and using wrist bands to identify those over 21. There being no further discussion, Mr. Karki moved that THE APPLICATION OF NORTHLAND VIETNAM VETERANS ASSOCIATION, BAYFRONT PARK, FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR AUGUST 10-13, 2006, WITH KATHERINE CAMPS, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Hanson seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.




RIDGEVIEW COUNTRY CLUB, 700 WEST REDWING STREET - APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JULY 27-30, 2006, WITH PHIL GAUDINO, MANAGER.


Philip Gaudino was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Gaudino reviewed that this application is in conjunction with the Arrowhead golf tournament at the club held in July. He stated that they hold a club license and need the temporary liquor license for the public to be served alcohol during the tournament. To questioning from the commission, Mr. Gaudino stated they are hiring off duty police officers to patrol the golf course each day of the tournament. Officer Latour stated he has approved this application. There being no further discussion, Mr. Hanson moved that THE APPLICATION OF RIDGEVIEW COUNTRY CLUB, 700 WEST REDWING STREET, FOR A TEMPORARY ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR JULY 27- 30, 2006, WITH PHILIP GAUDINO, MANAGER, BE APPROVED, AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Serre seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.
