BY COUNCILOR KRAUSE:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Duluth hereby approves the temporary expansion of the designated serving area of the following on sale intoxicating liquor license subject to departmental approvals with any specific restrictions:
Historic Union Depot, Inc. (St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center), 506 West Michigan Street, for May 11, 2007, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Alcohol, gambling and tobacco commission discussion of 4/4/2007: Ken Buehler was present on behalf of the application. Mr. Buehler explained that they will be having the award ceremony for the dart tournament and would like to be able to expand their licensed premises to the area under the portico to allow drinking and smoking. He continued by saying that they will section off the area per the directions of the police department and hire security required by the police department. In response to questioning by the commission, Mr. Buehler replied that they plan on the event lasting from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. There being no further discussion, Mr. Karki moved that THE APPLICATION OF HISTORIC UNION DEPOT, INC., (ST. LOUIS COUNTY HERITAGE & ARTS CENTER), 506 WEST MICHIGAN STREET, FOR TEMPORARY EXPANSION OF THEIR ON SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR MAY 11, 2007, BE APPROVED AND THE SAME BE RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL. Mr. Hanson seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.
