RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ENTERING INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION, SUBLEASING OFFICE SPACE IN THE MINNESOTA WORKFORCE CENTER - DULUTH FOR COSTS NOT TO EXCEED $65,000 FOR THE PERIOD 08/01/2007 THROUGH 07/31/2010.

RESOLVED, that proper city officials are authorized to enter into an agreement with the state of Minnesota department of administration to sublease office space in the Minnesota workforce center - Duluth, located on the second floor of the government services center, 320 west second street. Lease period runs from August 1, 2007 through July 31, 2010. Based on current square footage and rental rates, rent is expected to total $57,123.00. IN the event that rental rates or square footage are increased, total costs are not to exceed $65,000 payable from Fund 0268.
FURTHER RESOLVED, a copy of this agreement shall be in substantially the form of the agreement on file with the city clerk as Public Document No. __________________________.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize proper city officials to enter into an agreement with the state of Minnesota, Department of Administration to sublease space for the Duluth Workforce Development staff, located in the Minnesota Workforce Center - Duluth. This space is located on the second floor of the Government Services Center, 320 West Second Street, Duluth, Minnesota. Approximately 1,731 square feet to be leased from August 1, 2007 through July 31, 2010 at a current rate of $11.00 per square foot. The subleasing of this space is necessary to provide Duluth Workforce Development clients job training services and is part of the agreements reached during the implementation of the Minnesota Workforce Center - Duluth. Based on current square footage and rental rates, rent is expected to total $57,123. In the event that rental rates or square footage are increased, total costs are not to exceed $65,000 payable from Fund 0268.
