BY COUNCILOR REINERT:
RESOLVED, that city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Louise M. Beyea, D.V.M., for professional services as a provider of veterinary care to animals at the Lake Superior Zoo during year 2007 (with four one-year renewal options)in accordance with specifications and a total estimated amount not to exceed $10,000, payable from the General Fund 100, Department/Agency 400, Organization 1814, Object 5310. Said agreement is to be substantially in the form of Public Document No. _____________________ on file in the office of the city clerk.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Louise M. Beyea, D.V.M., for the veterinary care of animals at the Lake Superior Zoo for a total estimated amount not to exceed $10,000, payable from the general fund.
Duluth has a need for a licensed veterinarian to provide continuity of health care for all animals at the zoo, including exotic species. This contract covers services for year 2007 and includes four one-year renewable options.
The city of Duluth posted a request for proposals (RFPs) in the newspaper and on the city’s website in June. Louise M. Beyea, D.V.M. was the only one who submitted a proposal by the closing date.
