RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO LEASE NO. 10185 WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION FOR OFFICE SPACE WITHIN CITY HALL.

BY COUNCILOR NESS:

     WHEREAS, the state of Minnesota, department of administration, currently leases office space within City Hall used by the office of the state auditor.

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the city shall continue to lease office space in Room 206 City Hall to the state of Minnesota, department of administration, for a four year period from October 1, 2007, through September 30, 2011.

     RESOLVED FURTHER, that the present office space lease rate of $15 per square foot per year be increased as follows:

           $15.35 per square foot per year effective October 1, 2007;

           $15.85 per square foot per year effective October 1, 2008;

           $16.35 per square foot per year effective October 1, 2009;

           $16.85 per square foot per year effective October 1, 2010.

     RESOLVED FURTHER, that the proper city officers are authorized and directed to execute Amendment No. 6 to Lease No. 10185, filed as Public Document No. _____________ between the city of Duluth and the state of Minnesota, department of administration. All funds payable thereunder to the city to be deposited in General Fund 100-015-1515-2500-4622.


STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amended and updated lease agreement with the state of Minnesota, department of administration, for office space used by the office of the state auditor. The original lease agreement was authorized by Resolution 93-0445. The format for this lease is dictated by the state department of administration. This resolution increases the annual square foot lease rate beginning October 1, 2007, and each year thereafter though the term of the lease which expires September 30, 2011.
