The city council finds as follows:
(a) The city council supports the administration’s efforts to refine design and financing for construction of Lakewalk between 20th Avenue East and 25th Avenue East;
(b) The administration has conducted a public process and hired engineering design services to consider and refine alternatives;
(c) On June 25, 2007, the city council passed a resolution to concentrate design refinement on what is known as alternative number four; and
(d) Further design and analysis has resulted in a new recommendation from the administration that departs from alternative number four.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council endorses the administration’s design and construction priorities as detailed in Public Document No. ____________ on file with the city clerk, which provides for a ten foot wide paved path on the north side of Water Street, analysis and possible improvements at the intersection of Lakewalk and 23rd Avenue East, a ten foot wide gravel trail between 23rd and 25th avenues along the shoreline and improved access to public shore in the area known as The Ledges.
