PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a maintenance agreement with St. Louis County in year 2008 for computer hardware and software associated with participation in a shared integrated criminal justice information system called NEMESIS (Northeastern Minnesota Enforcement and Safety Information System) for $52,582.16, terms net 30, payable from General Fund 100, Agency 200, Organization 1610, Object 5404.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the Duluth police department to execute a maintenance agreement with St. Louis County in year 2008 for computer hardware and software associated with NEMESIS for $52,582.16, payable from the general fund.
NEMESIS, Northeastern Minnesota Enforcement and Safety Information System, is a shared integrated criminal justice system.
This opportunity exists because of a charter agreement among the following:
(a) Host - St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department;
(b) Charter subscribers:
(1) Duluth police department;
(2) Hermantown police department;
(3) Proctor police department;
(4) University of Minnesota Duluth campus police.
The original agreement was set up when St. Louis County was awarded a CriMet criminal justice grant to implement a shared integrated criminal justice information system as the lead agency for the region. St. Louis County, as host, sought to do this in the Arrowhead Region with the active assistance and financial support of charter subscribers listed above.
