RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES, HEALTHCARE AND SAFETY, AND SPECIFYING CONTRACT BENEFITS FOR SAME.

CITY PROPOSAL:

     RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the civil service classification of manager, human resources, healthcare and safety, which were approved by the civil service board on May 6, 2008, and which are filed with the city clerk as Public Document No. __________, are approved; that said classification shall be subject to the city’s collective bargaining unit with its supervisory unit (CDSA) employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be ranges 1115 through 1140. The proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement an agreement with the CDSA to provide for employing one or more unit members consistent with this resolution.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The job description was revised to reflect labor relations duties that will be performed in this position, and other minor revisions to better describe the duties and job requirements. The classification meets the legal definition of a supervisory position, and will be moved from the confidential unit to the supervisory unit. The pay rate negotiated for this classification is pay ranges 1115-1140, pay rate of $5,435 to $7,734 per month.
