RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS ENTERING INTO A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR FAIR HOUSING ENFORCEMENT AND ACCEPTING $120,000.00 FOR YEAR THREE OF CAPACITY BUILDING.

BY COUNCILOR FEDORA:

     RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to allow modification to City Contract No. 20095 to accept an additional $120,000.00 from the U.S. department of housing and urban development, providing for enforcement of federal civil rights laws and processing of related complaints by the city human rights office and other related matters, a copy of which is on file with the city clerk as Public Document No. __________, capacity building funds to be deposited in Fund No. 100, Agency 010, Org. 1105, Rev. Source 4209-2.


STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The purpose of this resolution is to allow modification to City Contract No. 20095 to accept an additional $120,000.00 from the U.S. department of HUD third-year capacity building funds for the 2008-2009 fiscal year for the human rights office. This funding will offset costs for investigating cases in fair housing, covering costs for staff to attend investigative training, and covering costs for outreach and education.
