PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The city of Duluth does ordain:
Section 1. That Lots 6 through 14, Block 4, Woodland Park Sixth Division, be reclassified from S, suburban, to R-1-b, one family residential (FN 08057), and that Plate No. 40 of the zoning district map as contained in the Appendix to Chapter 50 of the Duluth City Code, 1959, is amended to read as follows:
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its passage and publication.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This ordinance changes the zoning from S to R-1-b for property located on the east side of Woodland Avenue just north of Carlisle Avenue. Forest Hill Cemetery wishes to sell the caretaker home as they no longer have an on-site caretaker, do not want the cost of maintaining the building, and wish to improve their cash flow. This action conforms to the comprehensive plan and no conflicts would be created by rezoning the property.
Following the public hearing on July 8, 2008, the Duluth city planning commission voted 11 yes, zero no, and one abstaining to recommend this request.
