ISSUED TO: Those wishing to reclassify one land use zone to another.
PROCEDURE: Petition, accompanied by written consent of 2/3 of owners within 100 feet of the real estate affected, and the appropriate fees are filed with the City Clerk. The City Assessor submits a letter of sufficiency to the Urban Development Division. At the next city Planning Commission hearing (no sooner than four weeks) it is considered and recommendations are proposed to the City Council, 2/3 of which has the final authority to grant requests. The council requires two readings. At the second reading the council votes, and if affirmative, the zoning change becomes effective 30 days after the ordinance is published. The publication fee must also be paid.
