Job Title:  Heavy Equipment Operator

 

Employment Opportunity:  INTERNAL opportunity for qualified City employees who have completed their probation

 

Hours Per Week:  40

 

Current Salary Range: $39,552 to $46,500 Per Year

 

Anticipated Number of Openings:  1

 

Probation Period:  Six Months

 

Duration of Eligible List:  Seven Months

Job Summary:

Operate equipment such as dump trucks, trucks with trailers, sweepers, graders, flushers, loaders, bulldozers, log trucks, aerial trucks, and backhoes in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining streets, storm drains, catch basins, utility pipe lines, and other public works.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

A combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment in excess of five (5) tons, such as sweepers, graders, flushers, loaders, bulldozers, log trucks, aerial trucks, and backhoes. This requires a valid Minnesota Class A commercial driver’s license or equivalent with tanker endorsement.

Education/Experience Review: All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be rated based on the type (relatedness) and extent of their education and experience as they document on the expanded application provided.
