The City of Duluth is seeking an experienced
professional to serve as the Property and Facilities Manager for the Facilities
Division of the Department of Public Administration. This position will report
to the Director of Public Administration and will be responsible for building
and managing a high performing culture with an emphasis on quality,
productivity, and goal attainment. The ideal candidate will be a champion of
the City of Duluth’s guiding principles “Own It, Solve
It, Take Pride.”
Summary: The Property and
Facilities Manager will provide leadership and operational oversight for all
property and facilities activities within the City of Duluth. The manager will
be responsible for creating and maintaining a strategic operational approach to
managing City property, which includes 150 buildings, 85 of which are occupied, totaling over one-million square feet, and ensuring efficient and cost
effective property and facilities management while incorporating principles of
sustainability. The manager will have oversight of approximately 25 employees
with four direct reports and will be responsible for developing, monitoring,
and maintaining the division’s budget. The position is
classified in the Supervisory Union.
Property and Facilities Manager position requires a Bachelor’s degree Business,
Construction Management, Facilities Management, or closely related field and
five years of professional facilities and property management experience,
including three years of leadership experience; OR seven years of experience
which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed
within the job description including three years of leadership experience.
