Job Summary: To enforce parking regulations within the
City of Duluth.
Minimum Qualifications: One year of verifiable education and or
experience in law enforcement, parking enforcement, or a closely related degree
program such as Criminology, Sociology, etc., possession of a valid Minnesota
driver's license or equivalent, and ability to pass BCA security clearance in
order to operate a police computer.
Education/Experience Review: All applicants will be rated based on the type (relatedness) and extent
of their education and experience as they document on the expanded application
provided. Applicants who pass this phase
will be placed on an eligible list for this position.
Oral Performance Exam: The top scoring applicants plus all passing veterans from the education/experience
review totaling 20 individuals will be invited to participate in the oral
performance exam. If selected, you will
be notified by letter or email regarding the date, time, and location of the
oral exam. Applicants who pass the oral
phase will have their names placed on an eligible list for this position.
Alternative Exam Process: For persons who
qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) alternative examination
processes are available on an individual basis upon prior arrangement. Contact the Human Resources Division, 313

Right to Appeal: Any applicant who has been found qualified to participate
in a selection process for a position in the classified service who has reason
to contest the validity or fairness of any step in the selection process may
appeal to the Civil Service Board within ten (10) calendar days of the
examination. (If the “examination” is an Education/Experience Rating, the
applicant must appeal within 10 calendar days of the closing date for accepting
applications.) The notice of appeal shall be in writing, shall contain a
complete statement of the matter in controversy and the relief requested, and
shall be signed and dated by the appellant. The notice shall be addressed to
the civil service board and delivered to the Human Resources office. If

of consecutive service and separation under honorable conditions MUST be filed
