Excavation within the public right-of-way for sanitary/storm sewer connections or repairs, steam line repair, gas/water connections, repairs, or leaks requires an excavation permit secured by a bonded and insured contractor.
A surety bond in the sum of $10,000 and a general comprehensive liability insurance policy is required before a permit can be issued (insurance requirements document and street obstruction bond form). Permits may be issued on the day of the request if all requirements are met.
Permits are issued for a two week period; however, the contractor is responsible for the maintenance of the trench caused by the excavation.

Miscellaneous (Occupy) Permit
Occupying any portion of the public right-of-way may require a miscellaneous permit. Many activities such as sidewalk repairs, roll-off boxes,driveway aprons (curb cuts), scaffolding for building repair and maintenance, blocking any portion of the right-of-way with construction vehicles, materials or any other activity that results in the obstruction of a portion or all of a street, alley, or sidewalk may necessitate a miscellaneous permit. Transportation/Oversized Load Permit
Moving vehicles, small structures, materials, and/or mobile homes where the size and/or weight exceed the maximum standards applicable through state law require a transportation permit

Dealers with a state license are exempt from the transportation permit.Only state licensed mobile home dealers are allowed to move:
