Park Use for Picnics/Weddings
- Reservations for weddings will be taken beginning January 1 for weddings to be held
the following year; reservations for other private events to be held the following year will
be taken beginning November 1.
- Our parks are open for events beginning Memorial Day weekend. The bathrooms
will be closed by October 1. You may be still be issued a permit after this time, but
you will need to rent a port-a-potty.
- Please call 218.730.4320 or email mtalbot@duluthmn.gov to check on the availability
of a park. All communications regarding your reservation, should be made by the
contact person.
- After your reservation is secured, the application will be emailed to you. Mail the
completed form, along with the fee, to Parks and Recreation Division - 12 East 4th Street
- Duluth, Minnesota 55805. If for any reason your rental requires a deposit, please
submit a separate check for the deposit - this will be returned to you.
- Due to the increasing number of park use requests, reservations are final once the
permit has been issued. Please be sure of your date and time when making your
reservation. If you choose to cancel the permit, you will forfeit the fee - no exceptions
will be made.
- If alcoholic beverages are being displayed, served, or consumed, the permit holder
must be on the actual premises at all times.
- We do not provide any additional amenities such as chairs, tables, etc.
Special Events
- An event is considered "special" when it is open to the public, an admission fee is
charged, or it involves much more than an ordinary picnic. Examples are races, runs,

- These events require a different application and permitting process. Please contact Gail
