Parks and Recreation and Duluth YMCA offer Sandmodeling Contest, Summer Beach Bash and Water Expo on Thursday, July 19
[Duluth, MN] - It's time to have some fun in the sun. The annual Parks and Recreation Sandmodeling Contest will be held Thursday, July 19 at Park Point Beach. In conjunction with the Parks and Recreation's Annual Sand Modeling Contest which begins at 11:00 a.m., the Duluth YMCA will be offering additional fun activities such as a water balloon toss, hula hoop contest and face painting for youth and families from 11:00-4:00 PM. The event will take place at the Park Point Beach House which is located at 45th Street and Minnesota Avenue.
Sand modeling teams are invited to create their own works of art in the sand from 11:00-1:30. Bring your shovels, pails, creativity and build a work of art. A panel of judges will review all the sand sculptures with prizes given in several categories.
A water safety expo will also be held from 2:00-5:00 pm.
