Parks and Recreation Offers Holiday Break Skating at the Heritage Sports Center, Bayfront Park and the DECC
Looking for somewhere to skate over the holiday break, check out all the Parks and Recreation skating options.
Bayfront Park Outdoor Skating
Come skate at the City of Duluth’s premier outdoor skating rink Bayfront Park. Surrounded by 20-30 foot tall pine trees Bayfront skating is a wonderful experience. Come in from the cold and warm up near the fireplace in the Bayfront Family Center.
During the holiday break Bayfront will be open December 27-31 from 1:00-8:00 PM and closed on January 1st. On January 2nd Bayfront will be open weekly Monday-Friday 4:00-8:00 PM, Saturday 1:00-8:00 PM and Sunday 1:00-5:00 PM.
Heritage Sports Center Indoor Skating
Duluth Parks and Recreation is also offering free holiday break skating sessions at the Heritage Sports Center on the following dates.
Skating is free and open to all ages for pleasure skating. Please bring your own skates. The Heritage Center is located at 120 South 30th Avenue West.
DECC Skating Party Sunday, December 30th
Head down to the DECC Sunday, December 30th for the annual Parks and Recreation skating party. The skating party will be held in the DECC Arena from 3:00-5:00 PM. This is a great event for families. Skaters can enjoy cookies and music provided by Shelly's Mobile Music Machine. There will be free door prizes for the kids. DECC concessions will also be open during this time period. All skating parties are free and open to all ages. Kids under 10 must be accompanied by and adult. Participants need to bring their own skates.
