The responsibility of the Commission is to provide citizen input into the care, maintenance and removal of city trees through a partnership with the City's Forester. The DTC is working to develop an urban forest management strategy that includes an updated tree ordinance.
The ordinance will be recommended to the City Council and Mayor for approval. Ordinance provisions are developed with input from other City commissions/departments and the public and are patterned after successful ordinances from around the Nation. |
