Reconditioning of Junction Ave & St Marie St- College St to Carver Ave

The City of Duluth is preparing for construction on Junction Avenue and St. Marie Street between College Avenue and Carver Avenue that will take place in 2025. This reconditioning project is primarily intended to preserve the life of the existing roadway. Project work will include a mill and overlay of the curb-to-curb pavement condition, replacing sidewalks and curb in poor condition, upgrading intersection curb ramps to meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), constructing curb extensions to provide safer pedestrian crossings, and reconstructing two segments of the road that have subgrade failures. Design engineering will be conducted by LHB Corp. and overseen by the City of Duluth. This project will be financed by the City of Duluth through a Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) grant and Minnesota State Aid for Streets funds.
